Explanatory note:

A Special Chair is made possible (financially or in kind) by an external party, usually a non-profit organisation aiming to promote academic teaching and research on a particular theme. The Special Chair is occupied by a professor by special appointment, is usually part-time (0,2 FTE) and for a maximum of 5 years.
